Steve Ballmer talks to MVPs and discusses hot topics like Yahoo

Microsoft had a MVP summit last few and I was lucky enough to meet a few as well where I talked about the new IIS Media Pack. There is more on this at my blog on iis.net.

During the same summit Steve Ballmer talked to the whole MVP community and confronted important issues Microsoft faces. He also briefly mentioned Yahoo acquisition, which in my mind would be a great thing to happen for both YHOO and MSFT. I have a say since I own both these stocks ;).

Additionally Ballmer asked "how many MVPs use Yahoo search" and very few hands went up. At that point Ballmer remarked "and we paid $31...". Well, it is a typical Ballmer humor. Seattle Times reported more details on Steve Ballmer's talk at MVP summit

When I personally think of YHOO, search is only a very small part. I personally never use search.yahoo.com but then their search is the backend of so many other sites out there. Also, I think YHOO will play an important role in the advertising space in the future. They have great set of tools and hits which can help them play a significant role in advertising. Not many know but has been a key player in online video space. This could be a key to how the world communicates in the future.
